The Road-STEAMer project is pleased to announce its participation in the 5th International Conference on Professional Development in Mathematics and Science Education (Educating the Educators – ETE V), taking place in Limassol, Cyprus, from 8–9 May 2025. Organised by the International Centre for STEM Education (ICSE), ETE V is a key event for advancing teacher professional development across Europe and beyond.

This year’s conference focuses on four thematic tracks: Diversity in STEM Classrooms, STEM Education in the Digital Era, Interdisciplinarity in STEM Education, and Sustainability and STEM Education—offering an ideal context for our contribution.

The Road-STEAMer workshop, titled “From Criteria to Practice: Co-Creating Sustainable STEAM Learning,” will be led by Dr. Stephanos Cherouvis (Ecsite – European Network of Science Centres and Museums). The participatory session will introduce six evidence-informed criteria for high-quality STEAM practices, developed as part of the Road-STEAMer project.

Participants will engage in a gallery walk, share insights from their own educational contexts, and join a hands-on activity that critically explores the distinction between sustainability and exploitation in STEAM learning environments. The workshop aims to support educators and stakeholders in designing and evaluating meaningful, context-sensitive, and sustainable STEAM initiatives.

We look forward to connecting with professionals committed to innovating science and mathematics education and to furthering the dialogue around co-creative, inclusive, and impactful STEAM practices.
